SIDAI DESIGNS

We work together with Sidai Designs. Sidai means 'Beautiful' in the Maa language, the native language of the Maasai. Maasai is the name given to a largely nomadic people of East Africa, living mainly in Kenya and Tanzania. Sidai Designs works together with the women of the Maasai from Tanzania. This collaboration ensures employment, good training and a fair salary. Respect for cultural heritage, preserving traditions and supporting the local community play an important role.

All jewelry is handmade with local materials. By purchasing this jewelry you help the Maasai, the local population of Tanzania.

"A Maasai without culture is as a zebra without stripes. If we abandon our way of life, our next step could be extinction. Help us to preserve our way of life."

SHANGA

We also work with Shanga, a social workshop in Arusha, Tanzania. People with disabilities work here, making beautiful handmade products. Only recycled materials are used. The products are sold in their own store and can also be found in lodges and hotels.

The proceeds from the sold products are reinvested in creating more jobs for people with disabilities. By purchasing these handmade products you support this project and therefore the entire local population.
